Polifibra Starts New Development Projects

29.05.2024 - It’s an integral part of Polifibra Folien GmbH to implement new research and development projects into its day-to-day business in order to develop further and expand as well as boost its own competitiveness. Polifibra currently pursues three long-term development projects with different priorities and approaches which are at different stages of development. Aim of any such research project is to integrate those into production after extensive and successful test phases and make them part of regular business operations in order to realize financial return from such projects.

Projects at Different Stages

In cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute, with which Polifibra has initiated a number of joint projects, the Limburg film specialist is currently working on a new project in the area of tape. The project, primarily focused on aspects of adhesion, is still at an early stage and it is estimated to take at least another two years to complete.

In cooperation with another partner company, Polifibra currently finds itself in another development process for a battery film, the development of which is already more advanced but will certainly take at least another year. The demand for film applications in the area of battery and storage is incredibly high.

There is also a very advanced project in the construction sector. This project is based on a specific enquiry of a customer and is carried out in close cooperation with the customer. For this purpose, special films were developed and modified with the help of our partners so that these films comply with the customer’s application requirements and solve existing problems. The exciting project should turn out the first applicable solutions in just over six months.
